VIII International Conference on Mammoths and their Relatives, Bangalore, India

We are happy to announce the VIII International Conference on Mammoths and their Relatives to be held during 4th to 11th October 2020 at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India.

Apart from the scientific programme of oral and poster presentations, we will be offering exciting field trips to see free-ranging Asian elephants in Bandipur National Park (Karnataka, India) and to explore the famous Neogene-Quaternary vertebrate fossil site of the Siwaliks (Punjab, India). Participants will have the opportunity to join either one or both the field trips.

We will also be offering a range of accommodation options from 5-star hotels to guest houses on campus to suit the budgets of senior scientists, postdocs and students. A website with the domain name http://www.mammothindia2020.org/  has been created for the conference, and we will be putting out detailed information in the coming weeks.

We have constituted a National Organizing Committee, and are in the process of forming an International Scientific Committee to guide us.

Alpcord India has been contracted to handle the logistical arrangements for this conference.

This first announcement is being emailed to all participants at the last mammoth conference held in Taiwan. Please feel free to circulate this announcement among your colleagues and friends.
